PROJECT REBUILD

PREVIOUS TENANTS

A city lies in space,

Above dark earth and brittle fossils.

Healthy trees in the wild somewhere,

Setting seed, growing, spreading -

Roots groping under chain link,

Sucking up diesel slicks.

Who placed this shit here?

Light trapped in glass orbs,

Washes out the upper blue,

Of nights dark, glassy expanse.

Snow spots gum wads on walkways,

Soldered by sugary sputum.

Want to play a game?

Dog turd hop scotch...

Respiration is on the up,

Bonds in CO are ever more costly,

Cashed out and sleepy,

Language is done.

Tear back the jaundiced skin,

Feel the freshening sense....

As it harries a stale age,

Through the winding ways and

Grey Ravines of

A city...
