PROJECT REBUILD

PREVIOUS TENANTS

Vancouver Special

They emulate the look of elsewhere,
unique attempts at stating beauty
and grace in the form of a front lawn,

Sheets and reflective surfaces:
all those glittering bits of glass,
replication of sparkling stucco.
Their wood reminds of wood before
its felling. Of a plain persistence.
Of a strong second coming.

How can I fit?
How can I live?
What can I afford?
Like how William Shatner
must feel as a Shakespearean actor,
like the Betty White of house design.
