Self Portrait by Crow (ink on paper, 2009)

phosphorescent
all but weightless

wheeling
(wheedling)
through pretended clouds
indefensible theses
failure at the speed of sound
half-legendary
ruined by grandeur
(the cruel allure of painted sunsets)
who no one sees
eating swordfish
from the dumpster
behind Whole Foods
(black eyes gawping)
in the realm of
the lowest common denominator
